What Is Included in a Boiler Service?

Our technician will inspect all the major components of your system, including the burner, heat exchanger, controls, and safety devices. We will also clean the boiler and its parts and perform any necessary adjustments.

Here are some of the steps your engineer may carry out during their visit:

• Visual Inspection - Your engineer will assess if the boiler meets current standards. They’ll also check for potential corrosion and leakage. Finally, a visual inspection of your boiler’s flame will also be conducted.

• Removal of the Boiler Casing - Major components such as the burner, heat exchanger, main injector, and spark probe will be checked to ensure everything is functioning efficiently. Then, the inside of the boiler will be cleaned.

• Flue Check - The engineer checks that no obstructions exist in the flue terminals and that the flue is securely fastened.

• Gas Pressure Check - Gas pressure is required for a boiler to operate. Your engineer will check if the boiler is emitting high levels of pressure at all times. If it isn’t, the water in your taps and radiators will not reach the desired temperature.

• Boiler Fired Up - This step allows the engineer to check if there are any active faults in the boiler.

• Issuance of Gas Safety Certificate - After the engineer has finished all the necessary tests, they will provide you with a report. This document indicates potential issues (if any) in your boiler and how to maintain it in good operating order.

How Often Should I Have My Boiler Serviced?

You should have your boiler serviced at least once per year, preferably in the fall before winter arrives. This will help ensure that your system runs efficiently and safely when you need it most.
